I have borrowed mums design wall to layout my Jane Austen inspired quilt.
Ooh, I am so happy with it.
I have worked from a pattern, but at this stage, I am considering changing all the rest of the quilt.
I am my mothers daughter after all.
So, here it is, my dark and muted self portrait.
I enjoyed making this quilt, and in the end it had a lot more colour than originally planned.
A very satisfying session with my sewing machine.
12 Jane blocks, and
24 geese blocks.
And the machine unpacked and left open again.
I have been working on my art quilt challenge, that is due to be finished at the end of the month.
It is a representative self portrait.
It is to depict the complexity of my personality and its predisposition to be dark rather than light.
For followers of the art quilts around the world, this reveal is a little further along.
Before I pack up my sewing room, which is really the dining room off our kitchen, I had to do some work.
So, completed 12 or so Jane diamonds, and several goose blocks. Very enjoyable.
And now my cabinet is all packed up. Boo hoo.
My Christmas quilt was well received.
The winner specifically came up to me and thanked me for the quilt.
Very gratifying.
Well, it is the first of December.
So, it must be the time for raffle quilts for our local kids Christmas night.
It just makes you want to hum ... Its beginning to look a lot like Christmas .....
