Simulated trees

Today I free motioned some trees on my Sampey's quiltlet.

I need to get on with this if I am to get it finished by the 12th April.

I also have enough left over, nearly, of the batik squares for the backing.

I am two squares short, but I had intended to do a big tag with the original photo on it, so I am still going to do that but place it in the backing, rather than on it.

Sampey's project

Following on from previous post about chain piecing.

I put this together today.

I am quite happy.

Nothing I do is perfect but I am happy.

Chain Piecing

Today, imbetween caring for my unwell toddler, I have been chain piecing for a landscape project I am working on. I am attaching 2 quarter triangles to 1 half triangle.

The materials are batiks that my mother bought me and we have a challenge to complete a project with them. I am well on the way with mine, and I think Mum has started hers.

I am recreating a scene off the farm. Here is the plan I am working from. My husband has since pulled down the old fence from that block so this place doesn't really exist anymore.
